With a changing climate that is resulting in intense droughts, devastating weather patterns, and diminishing ozone, invest-ing in a clean, renewable energy source is definitely the way of the future. Africa Green Energies is a waste to energy entity, focusing on the utilization of organic waste to produce green energy that can be used for cooking, heating, and electricity production.
A leading solution is the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), a closed containment aquaculture system for fish culture in controlled indoor environments. AquaVentures encourages local farmers to adopt the RAS. Although initial investments are higher, farms can more easily achieve viable levels of productivity.
Prosthetic Engineering Technologies (PET) are developing bespoke silicone liners and sockets for Amputees. There exists a significant backlog of these Amputee products in South Africa and Africa. PET are using the application of appropriate technologies to provide bespoke solutions to Amputees, at scale. Given this business model, and the targeted use of technologies to reduce costs and speed up the production cycle, these products will result in the overall improvement and well-being of Amputees.
Rubber Nano Products (Pty) Ltd [RNP] holds technology that allows for the creation of chemically specific activators for the different major classes of accelerators used in rubber vulcanization with sulfur. These accelerator classes are based on the chemical species forming the active portion of the accelerator type. RNP technology allows for variation of the substrate used and can create activators from almost any material used in rubber manufacture. Sulfur, silica, carbon black and even activating stearic acid are among the many possibilities.
The EndoCube mimics product temperature in a refrigeration unit and can realise between 10 – 30% savings on this load depending on use and how efficient the system is in the first place. The EndoCube can be fitted to the temperature sensor so that the fridge will display product temperature and not circulating air temperature. Alternatively, it can be fitted to the thermostat sensor, which controls the compressor resulting in a reduction in refrigeration cycles.
